About Us

Kirsti Hendrickson and David Marc are the proud owners of Bluegill and Chill. We live in Hermantown, Minnesota, with our four wonderful children, and we love spending weekends and summers in Chetek at our lake house on Mud/Ojaski Lake. 

Kirsti is the hostess and the one running this show. She is originally from Winona, MN, and grew up on the Mississippi River, where she spent her childhood fishing with her grandpa — a tradition that sparked her love of the outdoors and gave her a knack for out-fishing everyone else. That early connection to water and family laid the foundation for her appreciation of lake life. She's fallen in love with Chetek’s small-town charm, its scenic beauty, the welcoming community, and the joy of discovering local shops and restaurants. For Kirsti, Chetek has become more than a getaway — it’s a place of peace, connection, and endless lakeside memories.

David grew up in Chetek, and much of his family still lives in this charming town. His childhood was filled with fishing, cruising the Chetek Chain, riding his bike into town, and exploring the Northwoods with friends. That deep-rooted connection to the lake and community inspired him to return and share the experience with others.

Together, we’ve made this vibrant lake town our family’s second home. Weekends and summers are spent enjoying fishing on the Chain of Lakes, cruising on the pontoon, sailing on our sailboats, paddleboarding with the kids, and gathering around the fire pit with friends. You may run into us on the lake or in town (particularly because we are sharing with you our favorite spots!).

We are proud to be involved in the local community and are passionate about creating a space where guests can forget about stress and reconnect with what matters most. Bluegill and Chill was born from that vision — a place to unwind, laugh, fish, and make memories that last a lifetime.
